Delete your account
You can delete your Billkeep account from inside the app, or from Billkeep on the web, at any time. It takes about ten seconds and does not need our help.
In the app
Open Settings
The Settings tab in the app, or Settings on the web.
Open Account
Where signing in and the cloud copy live.
Choose "Delete my account"
It is at the bottom of the page.
Confirm
Your account and everything backed up to it are removed immediately.
By email
If you can no longer sign in, or you no longer have the app installed, email apisurge@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We action these within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted, and what is not
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account — email address, name, profile picture and account identifier | Deleted |
| Your cloud backup, if you ever switched it on — invoices, clients, tax rates, payment links, payments and history | Deleted |
| Records stored on your own phone, or in your own browser | Kept |
The invoices on your own device are deliberately left alone. They live on your phone or in your browser, they were never uploaded anywhere else, and they may be records you are legally required to keep. Closing an account should not destroy your business paperwork.
To remove those too, uninstall the app or clear this site's data in your browser.
Take a backup file first
Billkeep opens on a sign-in screen, so once the account is gone you will not be able to open the app to reach those records — even though they are still sitting in this browser. Use Settings → Save a backup file before you delete, and you keep a readable copy of everything regardless.
Retention
Deletion is immediate, not scheduled. There is no grace period during which we hold your data back, and no archived copy kept for our own purposes. Google may retain routine infrastructure backups of its own for a short period as part of operating the underlying service.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel that separately in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
